Subject: Amiga to PC Network
X-Listprocessor-Version: 6.0c -- ListProcessor by Anastasios Kotsikonas

X-Status:
I know this topic has been the subject of numerous postings here, as well as
LWPro articles; I've read just about all of them, but I am still unsure of
how to proceed. I recently ordered a new 200MHz Pentium Pro w/ NT, and will
be ordering LW5.0 within the next few months. I will need to network the PC
to my A2000 (which is running ADOS 2.1, and LW 3.1) to allow me to transfer
rendered frames from the PC to the Amiga so I can lay them to tape. I'm
expecting that I'll need to get something like an Ariadne board for the
Amiga, and a card for the PC, and, since the version of LW I have now on the
Amiga doesn't have Screamernet, I would have to buy an Amiga LW also to get
Screamernet working. I refuse to buy an additional copy of LW just to get
Screamernet, so I guess Screamernet is out, and I'll have to manually copy
files via the network. Could someone give me some direction on what I'll
need? For example, do I need to upgrade my AmigaDOS to the latest version;
is the Ariadne still available, and is it a good choice; what's a good
network card for the PC; any setup tips, etc. Thanks.
